Grow NJ Kids
In May 2014, Village Babies Development Center, LLC received funding to participate in a statewide pilot program, Grow NJ Kids. The program is a federal Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge grant with the purpose of implementing a “quality rating and improvement system” (QRIS) for child care in the state of New Jersey. Data collected from the initial participants in the program will be compiled, analyzed, and used to develop a standardized system of child care in the state.
This will greatly increase the overall quality of New Jersey child care and will allow parents to make an informed decision about where they send their children. The Village Development Center is proud to have been chosen to participate in Grow NJ Kids.
The Village Babies Development Center, LLC is located in a bright, spacious, three-story building in South Orange, New Jersey. We’re located only a quarter mile from the South Orange train station with an ample parking lot in the rear which ensures pick-up and drop-off is simple and safe.
The Village Babies & Pre-School building is divided into three levels – on the ground level there is a 1500 square foot indoor gym, the first level is devoted to offices and classrooms for infants and toddlers, and the pre-school classes occupy the entire second level.
We have two outdoor play areas in the front and rear of the building. When in season, children and parents alike are welcome to pick apples and peaches from our trees outside. Natural light spills into the classrooms from the large windows throughout the building. Our children can play outside in our little log house, use building blocks to construct their own architectural masterpieces, or make friends with our Center pets. The children’s artwork and photographs of them (our Children at Work photo series) adorn the walls, bringing a sense of life to wherever you go in the facility.
